Hi, I’m Anikka. This is my story.
Writing and copy editing are in my blood. As a child, riding the city bus to and from school with my mother, I’d read signs and point out anything I thought should be changed. Throughout my school tenure, teachers often chastised me for going over the assigned word limits on reports and papers. They didn’t realize what everybody who knows me knows: I have a lot to say!
In 2016, I channeled my love of writing and editing into a Master of Science degree in Professional Writing from New York University. Shortly after, a friend asked me to read a novel she’d written and planned to self-publish. Without her permission, I edited her text and submitted cohesive notes I’d taken regarding holes I saw in her story. She was appreciative of the feedback, and I instantly earned my first client.
Since then, I’ve continued to hone my writing and editing skills, working with multiple authors, bloggers, and business owners to compose and refine the written content they’ve put into the world. However, writing and editing has always been a side hustle, coming second to my day jobs; mostly in operations or administration in the media, marketing, and market research fields. Now, with the relaunch of GreenLight Editorial Services, I’m leaning full-time into my passion for writing and editing, allowing those who prefer to focus fully on their passions to leave the writing and editing to me.

As the world has grown increasingly digital, writing has actually become more important than ever. It’s also being neglected. Everyday, I see error-filled messages on platforms large and small. That’s why I started GreenLight Editorial Services; to do my part to ensure that the writing we read is grammatically correct and error-free.
Good writing is more than just an art or a skill. There's a method to composing content that persuades, inspires, or entertains. That’s why my master's degree in professional writing is a master of science. That’s also why AI can be useful.
While some believe that the corners of good writing can be cut with artificial intelligence, they forget that artificial intelligence is just that: artificial. Still, there’s a way to embrace new, powerful technology while maintaining human efficacy. Tools like ChatGPT can be utilized, if needed, as a way to generate ideas for a writing project, but GreenLight Editorial Services exists to provide clients with a human writer that understands your human audience as well as the intention behind the stories you wish to tell.
